Heating Plant to Support Otrokovice Town Projects

Otrokovice (14.2.2014) - The Otrokovice Heating Plant is going to play an important role in the projects the town of Otrokovice is preparing for this year. On 13 February Petr Jeník, the Chairman of the Board of the Otrokovice Heating Plant, František Foltýn, the Vice Chairman of the Board, and Jaroslav Budek, the Mayor of Otrokovice, signed an agreement on support concerning culture, schools, health care, social welfare and sports.

Based on this agreement the Heating Plant is going to support the city with the amount of CZK 260 thousand this year. “We are one of the key corporations in the region and we are aware of our social responsibility. That's why most of the funds for donations and sponsoring go to Otrokovice, Napajedla and Zlín, where we are located,” said Petr Jeník, the Chairman of the Board.

The town will use the financial contribution from the Heating Plant for organizing several events such as Sports Glory, Otrokovice Summer Festival, Lighting of Christmas Tree, events organized for the celebration of the 120th anniversary of the Bata Shoe Company foundation or the project of Healthy Exercises to Schools, which involved over five hundred pupils. “It's about spontaneous exercising of elementary school children within the after school care under the guidance of the coaches from the local clubs,” said Lenka Vaculová, the spokeswoman of the Otrokovice Town Hall.

Apart from that, the Heating Plant is going to contribute CZK 90 thousand to the association Sružení Šance for improving the quality of treatment for the children with oncological diseases and the civic association Naděje in Otrokovice for creating job opportunities for people with disabilities who are disadvantaged in the labor market.

The support to the region, surrounding towns, municipalities and non-profit organizations increased significantly last year, when the company was acquired by a new owner, the Lama Energy Group. The amount of donations and sponsoring last year was CZK 1 million.
